Avi has been preparing himself for this new series of lectures
regarding “Defining Biblical Terms”. This is a three hour
lecture, two parts with one 20-minute break).
Naturally, in everyday life, words and phrases convey meanings.
The same is true when we are engaged in studying the Bible. In
first-century Israel, biblical lessons were conveyed by using
spiritual terminology that was well understood by the hearers of
that generation. Today however, in many religious circles people try
to define biblical terminology in light of 21st century westernized
culture. As a result, this causes many to misinterpret the
Scriptures.
In this lecture program, we are going to look at a handful of
these terms and define them according to what the Bible says they
mean. In other words, we are going to let Scripture interpret
Scripture. Come mentally prepared because the definitions could
quite likely surprise you.
